You Just Never Know

Raise your hand if you thought that the 1:8 scale full-fender Bug body from ProLine was discontinued. Now keep your hand raised if that hasn't stopped you from wanting one. And NOW... keep your hand raised if you have been lucky enough to actually find one in a store. Oh. I think we may have lost a lot with that last question.

Now, I will admit that you can likely still find some online (e.g. eBay, etc.), and that's great. Hopefully, they are being offered at a reasonable price, and not jacked up to some ungawdly amount as being discontinued/rare. I will also admit that we haven't even checked out those options for this body. We did, however, have the luck of one of these bodies kind of dropping in our lap.

It started with a, "While we're out and heading this way, I need to stop somewhere for just a minute." We talked about once before here. Those scary words are still uttered from time to time by the head monkey, although less often than they used to. And more often lately, the head monkey actually has a plan when those words come out (thankfully). The days of stopping somewhere just to wander and see what's out there have been dwindling. So I am not as scared of those words as I once was.

And then, there are the times when stopping in yields even more than the original plan in a good way. That would be the case here. The funny thing about it is that the head monkey had recently talked about how the Bug body on the EXO Terra needed to be replaced after the green and black flame paint job had been beat to hell in a mud pit (Leaving the body on was not the best decision that day, but it sure looked COOL.) But, of course, he could not replace the body with the same one, because it had been discontinued.

So, the head monkey goes into the store just to buy some paint, and walks out with a discontinued ProLine Bug body. HOW COOL IS THAT?
